After having successfully collaborated in the past Juan Rodriguez and Lica Wouters decided that two is better than one and formed JLR Entertainment LLC.
Each brings a unique set of skills to the table to make JLR Entertainment a one-stop shop for all your media production needs.
Lica Wouters
Lica Wouters was born in Holland and grew up in Zurich, Switzerland. After attending the American International School of Zurich, she headed for London, England where she did a foundation year in media. The year consisted for the most part of shooting 8mm film and storytelling exercises. She enjoyed living the fast paced city life, but wanted to develop her skills more seriously so she enrolled in The School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1995. She graduated four years later with a BFA in Film and Video and a love for everything digital.
In the last couple of years she has been focusing more on presenting finished media projects on the web forcing her to look for new and exciting ways to bring digital entertainment to the consumer.
Lica brings to JLR Entertainment a vast knowledge of the post-production process both in the non-digital realm and the digital realm, as well as an in-depth knowledge of current web coding techniques, web marketing and social media marketing. Lica speaks German, Dutch and English.
Juan Rodriguez
Juan Rodriguez was born and raised in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, New York and was introduced to the film & video industry when his graffiti art was seen by Darnell Martin, director of hit shows such as Law & Order, ER and Grey’s Anatomy. Impressed with his artistic sensibility, Darnell hired him as an Art Department Assistant where he could put his artistic side to work. Enjoying the fact that he could make money doing something he loved, he immersed himself in work, and literally worked on hundreds of music videos. He worked in all areas of production, from PA to Gaffer, from Producer to Location Scout eventually settling in to his preferred position of Assistant Director.
In 1995, Denis Biggs hired him for one of the first Latin comedy shows to air in primetime on the Fox Network titled “House Of Buggin’” with then up and coming Latin comedian John Leguizamo. Juan was initially assigned as a production assistant, but his role expanded to become John Leguizamo’s personal assistant. His ability to provide a comfortable environment for A-list talent on set made him a valuable asset to productions such as “The MTV Music Video Awards”, “The VH1 Fashion Awards”, “The Grammy’s”, “The GQ Men of the Year Awards”, and the “VH1 Diva’s”.
Juan has worked with some of the greatest icons of the last two decades such as Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Aretha Franklin, Jay-Z, Diddy, Russell Simmons, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Celia Cruz, Beyoncé, Christopher Walken, Shakira, Brooke Shields and many more. His résumé reads as a who’s who in the industry. He brings to JLR Entertainment a vast network of contacts and a wealth of experience. Juan speaks Spanish and English.
